AYRA is a thoughtfully designed retirement home for a surgeon couple, created by combining two adjoining flats into one seamless residence. Located away from the bustle of the main city in Solapur, Maharashtra, the home is envisioned as a calm, rooted, and deeply personal living environment for their next phase of life.

The design carefully responds to the apartment’s north–south axis, using natural light, views, and ventilation as defining elements of the spatial experience. This orientation became a key design driver, allowing the interiors to feel warm, open, and naturally connected throughout the day.

Rooted in a traditional Indian design language, the home reflects the couple’s cultural sensibilities and personal memories. Instead of designing from a blank slate, their most cherished furniture pieces were retained and thoughtfully integrated, allowing the interiors to be built around memory, familiarity, and emotional value.

AYRA is therefore a retirement home shaped by light, tradition, comfort, and the quiet dignity of a life well lived.
